Special Olympics Athletes Gear Up for Games with Field Day

BREWER - Dozens of kids had the chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine today, as area schools got together up for the annual Friends of Field Day...gearing up for the Special Olympics. Our Erin Thomas has more.
Kids of all ages laced up their sneakers at the Brewer Community School track, getting ready for the Special Olympics. Now in it's 5th year, the event let's these athletes practice for the big day.
Dedham, Orono, Glenburn, and Brewer schools all took part in field day events- softball throw,  long jump, and of course, running.
Brewer Community School student council members lended a hand in the events, in what they say is a rewarding experience.
