Local Relay for Life team Holds Family Fun Day

Written by
BANGOR - A local relay for life team had some "fun in the sun" today as some members started gearing up for next month's race.
Laughter, clapping and a vast array of talent could be heard Sunday at the VFW hall in Bangor.
Marion's Monsters hosted a family fun day, vendor expo, and community yard sale as a fundraising effort to partake in the Penobscot Relay for Life, having lost a loved one last fall.
Businesses like Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, and Origami Owl Custom Jewlery were there in support of the cause.
Also in attendance was Maine author Canaan A. York.
Of course no fundraising effort would be complete without an auction, and there were some very popular items like Waterfront Concert tickets and Rafting adventures.
Activities outside included a bounce house for the young kids in attendance, and Maine Humorist Gary Crocker hosted a talent show which showcased kids of all ages.
The Penobscot relay for life will take place at UMaine May 17-18th.
