AUGUSTA - For years, the issue of genetically modified foods has been brought forth by concerned individuals. Now a potential bill could let consumers know what's in their food. Our Erin Thomas reports.
Dozens of activists, health officials, and farmers testified in favor of LD 718, an act to protect maine food consumers' "right to know" about genetically engineered food and seed stock.
If passed, the bill would require a label on foods with genetically modified organisms, or GMOs.
Others feel the label could affect the farming industry in Maine.
