BAR HARBOR - Bar Harbor's Fire Chief and his family were just a few of the hundreds of Mainers who attended the event yesterday in Boston.
It's a much quieter day at the Bar Harbor Fire Department for Fire Chief Matt Bartlett.
Less than 24 hours before, he and his step daughter Anna, were among the large crowd of spectators waiting at the finish line. You can see them, at the top of the stands, waiting for Bartlett's wife Lori to cross the finish line, just 30-yards from where the first bomb went off.
As things began to unfold, Bartlett says his first thought was to get his daughter Anna as far away as he could, as quickly as he could.
then, he needed to find Lori.
45 long minutes later, they were able to get in touch. Lori, had been stopped at mile marker 24, and was unable to finish the race, but when asked if she would return next year-
"I think so, I told her if you go down, I'll go with you."
