Mass. Man Trapped Under Sled for Nearly 20 Hours Shares Story of Survival

Bangor - A Milford, Massachusetts man is recovering from hypothermia tonight at Eastern Maine Medical Center, after being pinned under his snowmobile for nearly 20 hours in the Maine wilderness. 64 year-old Paul Lessard shared his amazing story of survival with us earlier today.
"I kept my cool," said Paul Lessard.

'Moses' as he's known on the trails, survived 18 bitter cold hours trapped under his snowmobile.

"I wasn't really scared."

It happened Tuesday night. Lessard was riding alone on a trail near Fort Kent when he lost control -- his sled flipping over.

"My right leg was stuck... I was all squished up."

Search teams traveled over 100 miles through single digit temperatures and snow squalls in pitch dark.

"I heard the plane flying over... I heard the snowmobile coming... my friend says, that's an Arctic Cat trail... That's where Moses is!"

Wardens located Lessard at 7:45 Wednesday morning. With only a few bumps and bruises, he's in good spirits, and says an experience like this, isn't going to stop him from getting back on his sled next winter.
