Senator Collins Visits Middle School Students

Media

OLD TOWN - Many children want to become firefighters, teachers, or doctors when they grow up... but some middle school students in Old Town, may tell you after today, that they want to be a senator.  Our Erin Thomas has the story.

Students at Leonard Middle School gathered in the gymnasium Thursday afternoon, anxiously awaiting a special visitor- Senator Susan Collins.

Senator Collins was greeted by the school's principal and student council officers, and received a performance by the jazz ensemble.  Following which, she gave a presentation on what it's like to be a senator.

Students even had the chance to ask her a few questions about the job.
