AUGUSTA -- A two-story, multi-unit residential building on Northern Avenue in Augusta is gutted, Thursday, after an afternoon fire wreaked havoc on the structure.
Officials say crews arrived at around 3 p.m. to find the backside of the building fully involved.
It took crews from multiple communities several hours to put down the blaze, which scorched the siding and blew out some windows of a neighboring building.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
A sole male occupant was treated for smoke inhalation, before being released.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is now tasked with pinning down a cause.
