PALMYRA - When you think of pulling trees out of the woods, you probably imagine it being done with large machinery and logs trucks. Well two local brothers are keeping that task a bit more old-fashioned. Our Erin Thomas has the story.
It all started with their father...now Tyler Norris and his brother, Garth, have taken over the tradition- using their draft horses to haul firewood off the family's 150 acres.
Tyler's been working with the horses for six years...with their best winter yet in 2009- pulling in 100 cord of wood. They did have a little more help back then, before they lost their dad, three years ago.
Now that Tyler's in charge of caring for Kate, Olivia, and Katie- it's not just wood these girls are hauling anymore. Tyler started offering horse-drawn sleigh rides this winter.
The brothers hope that the recent snowfall will allow for a few more weekends of sleigh rides at the farm. If you're interested in going for a ride, you can visit their Facebook
page or call 416-8132.
