Bangor - If you've lived in Maine for a while, chances are you've encountered some massive potholes. You certainly wouldn't want to drive into a hole that opened up on Lincoln Street in Bangor over the weekend.
That's where an old sewer line broke and the water ended up washing away the dirt beneath the roadway. That caused a sinkhole to open up, measuring more than six feet wide.
There was another nearby on David Street.
Public works crews were on the scene today repairing the damage.
