Bar Harbor Prepares for Cruise Ship Season With New Bouys
BAR HARBOR - The town of Bar Harbor is making their waterways safer after a passenger tender ran aground in shallow waters last year.
Navigation buoys will be placed out to mark the channel way to guide cruise ships tenders through the passage.
Harbor Master Charlie Pippen says he hopes the buoys will prevent a repeat accident that left nearly 100 people stuck on Bar Island this past October.
Officials hope to have the project completed before the cruise ship season begins.
