TSA to Allow Pocket Knives, Small Bats on Planes Again

BANGOR - Beginning next month, small pocket knives and novelty bats will once again be allowed  in carry-ons aboard airplanes.
New TSA regulations will allow for small knives with non-locking blades.  Toy bats, ski poles, hockey sticks, lacrosse sticks, billiard cues, and a maximum of two golf clubs, will also be allowed.

The changes will go into effect April 25th... as part of an overall risk-based security approach, to let security officers better focus on finding higher threat items, such as explosives.  Still prohibited are razor blades and box cutters, and full-size baseball, softball and cricket bats.
