Florists busy on Valentine's Day

BANGOR - When it comes to love, flowers are the most common way to show someone that you care. That means Valentine's Day is the busiest day of the year for most florists.

A lot of planning is needed to make beautiful flower bouquets because more than just flowers are needed to make a perfect arraignment.

"About four or four to five weeks to get ready," said Mark Pellon, of Chapel Hill Floral. "Making all the delivery boxes, getting all the tissue paper, getting the bags. The last part is getting the flowers in, getting them processed and then making the arrangements."

Roses are always a hit on Valentine's Day, but orchids are gaining in popularity and in Maine. With spring just around the corner, yellow tulips always brighten a person's day.
