Trucker found guilty in vehicular manslaughter trial

ROCKLAND - A Tennessee truck driver has been found guilty of causing a crash that killed two people.

A jury in Rockland resumed deliberations this morning in the trial of Randal Weddle, 55.

He's accused of causing a crash in the town of Washington two years ago that killed Christina Torres-York of Warren and Paul Fowles of Owls Head.

The jury found him guilty on two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated OUI and two counts of driving to endanger.

Authorities said he was intoxicated when he crashed a rig hauling lumber into three vehicles.

He was also found guilty of violating a number of trucking rules.

Weddle is expected to receive his sentence in March.
