Protestors arrested in Augusta after police warning ignored

AUGUSTA - Four people were arrested this afternoon during a protest in Augusta.

A group calling themselves "Truth to Central Maine Power" had gathered outside CMP offices this morning for a planned protest. They want the company to support the increase of solar power in Maine.

The problems arose when the protesters left their designated area in an effort to confront CMP officials. Most of them left when police told them they would have to leave that area or be arrested.

Four of them refused and were arrested on criminal trespassing charges.
