More people coming forward after Houlton educator arrested

HOULTON - Houlton police say more victims continue are coming forward following the arrest of a longtime local educator.

James Rochford, 75, was arrested last week after police received a tip over social media. That person indicated Rochford had supplied a teenager with alcohol and then sexually assaulted the person.

 

Rochford is now charged with multiple counts of unlawful sexual contact, along with furnishing alcohol to a minor.

 

According to a news publication called "The County", more alleged victims have also come forward and police encourage others to also share their stories. All of the alleged victims are described as young adult males.

 

Rochford has been a longtime teacher in Aroostook County and most recently worked as an ed tech for the region two school of applied technology.
