AG Mills said wind development should move ahead

AUGUSTA - Attorney General Janet Mills has taken issue with the governor's new stand on wind power.

Governor LePage announced last week he was placing a moratorium on new wind power projects. He's also forming a special commission to study the effect wind turbines are having on Maine's tourist industry.

Mills said the governors order will not change existing law and her office will work with any company that's denied the permits needed to push their projects ahead.

Mills, a democratic candidate for governor said she's concerned how the order will impact investments in Maine's growing wind power industry.
