And, it's rare for the people from those agencies to talk to each other. One state legislator said it's time for everybody involved with any aspect of the opioid epidemic to share information.
representative Patty Hymanson, D-York, said "It's really an effort to coordinate efforts. The idea is to have all the commissioners in one room so that they can talk amongst themselves because they're the ones who get things done."
Basically, Hymanson said this legislation would create a council of department commissioners.
She said this is a concept evolved from the 2016 opioid consortium and last year's opioid task force.
