This after their snowmobile driven by Eli Strauss, 43, entered the water.
The warden service said his 12-year-old daughter and her friend were with him at the time. The three then swam to the pond's shoreline.
The two girls then waited on the shoreline while Strauss waded through the woods for help.
His wife called police just after 5:30 p.m. when they didn't return home that evening.
When search crews found him, Strauss could no longer walk due to hypothermic symptoms.
All three are being treated for hypothermia at Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, where they are expected to be okay.
Officials told us that both girls have been treated and released, and the father is in good condition.
