Salvation Army toy drive this weekend

BANGOR - The Bangor Salvation Army wants to fill a truck with toys this weekend.

They'll be holding a special toy drive this Saturday at the Brewer Walmart Store.

Volunteers will be on hand with lists of suggested toys that people can buy for less fortunate children. They hope to gather 600 toys to help fill a big wish list this year.

Salvation Army Captain Rebecca Kirk said "We just want people to consider what will your children or grandchildren want for Christmas because that's most likely what community children are asking for. So we try to put some hot items on a page in case people are a little out of touch. But what we're looking for is the most requested toys so we can match them."

Brewer police will also be on hand to support the effort.

The toy drive will take place this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Brewer Walmart.
