Millennials deemed number one Christmas music fans

NATIONWIDE - If you think young people aren't fond of Christmas music, think again.

A study by Nielsen has found music lovers between the ages of 18 and 34 now account for a whopping 36 percent of holiday music fans.

That's more than 40 percent larger than the corresponding pool of baby boomers who enjoy Christmas music.

Survey organizers said having millennials as the generation that most-loves Christmas jingles is especially noteworthy, since eight of the top 10 holiday songs played on the radio during the Christmas season last year were released between 1944 and 1970. Including Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" and Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad," Long before the millennials were born.
