BANGOR - Bangor police have arrested a second suspect following a rash of vehicle thefts.

Todd Whitman, 30, of Bangor is facing a number of charges including theft by unauthorized taking and receiving stolen property.

Police said he and Cody Fairless, 22, are responsible for a number of vehicle thefts in recent months.

They were taken from local car dealerships and police believe some of the vehicles were also used in burglaries at businesses.

Fairless was arrested last month and is facing burglary charges in addition to charges related to the stolen vehicles.

Both suspects are now being held at the Penobscot County Jail.

Police are also reopening similar cases that have occurred in recent years to see if there might be a connection to the most recent thefts.
