MARSHFIELD - Firefighters have been battling a wildfire in Marshfield.

Flames were four to 6 feet according to Maine Forest Rangers.

A helicopter, bulldozers and other equipment were brought in to help fight that fire near Hadley Lake. At last report the fire had burned about 5 acres but no homes had been threatened.

About a quarter of an acre burned in Lamoine earlier today when a dead tree fell on some power lines and ignited the area underneath it. The homeowner happened to come outside and spotted smoke.

Firefighters said they were lucky to get to it quickly before the fire spread.
