During a campaign stop in Bangor Monday, Hayes said it's time to bring an end to the partisan fighting in Augusta and work together to make life better for the people of Maine. She said "I think it's important for us to realize we're all in this together. There's no right way. And we'll come up with the best plan if we allow everyone a place at the table. So I'm going to give folks the invitation every day to do the right thing."
Hayes is also running as a clean election candidate to keep wealthy donors, special interests and others at bay.
Hayes said there are good people in Augusta who want to solve our states problems, but she believes they're caught in a system that rewards partisanship. She stated she'll work to change that while making government more transparent and accountable to the people.
Encouraging partnership and not partisanship.
