Washington County is experiencing electric service distruptions

WASHINGTON COUNTY - Emera Maine has been trying to figure out what has been causing power disruptions in parts of Downeast Maine.

People in several communities experienced momentary electricity interruptions and flicking lights last week.

Crews were dispatched to the area and determined it was caused by a loose conductor.

It impacted people in communities including Eastport, East Machias, Perry, Whiting and the Passamaquoddy reservation.

Emera sent out a message this afternoon saying crews will make repairs, but they may experience service interruptions while the work is being carried out.
