UCP of Maine preparing for annual "Pumpkins in the Park" event

BANGOR - The leaves are starting to change color, and members of one non-profit are preparing to put on a massive Halloween celebration.

United Cerebral Palsy of Maine hosted an ice cream fundraiser Wednesday. With the help of the Darlings Ice Cream Truck families were invited to come to West Market Square in Bangor and donate money and candy for the fifteenth annual "Pumpkins in the Park."

UCP boasts Pumpkins in the Park as the area's largest indoor family Halloween event.

Organizer Jonathan Smith stated "It's basically an indoor trick-or-treating event. Kids can come out in their costumes and see local pumpkin patches, which are basically local organizations and agencies decorating an area."

The theme for this year is "Games Galore," so in addition to trick-or-treating, families will have plenty of games to play this Halloween.
