There have been two incidents this week, including Wednesday morning in Thomaston when a person in a white van approached a middle school student and asked him to get in the vehicle.
Fortunately, the boy continued to ride his bike and reported the incident to his mother.
On Monday, a white van with three men inside also stopped and asked a little girl to also get in the vehicle in Owls Head. She ran into some woods to hide and also told her parents what happened.
The superintendent of schools sent a letter to parents to let them know about the situation and to talk to their children about how to stay safe.
The schools are working with local police to increase vigilance and awareness at all local schools.
