Downtown Bangor partnership meets to discuss bringing more events to downtown area

BANGOR - There's going to be a whole lot more going on in Downtown Bangor.

Business owners, people who live downtown, and some associated with organizations that are centered downtown met today to discuss updates and ideas they have to bring more people to Downtown Bangor.

They have fun events like downtown trick or treat where businesses hand out candy for trick or treaters and that usually pulls in a couple thousand people.

They also want to create events around the craft brew industry and have a day were brewery's take over a restaurant downtown and do a corn hole tournament.

Chair of the Downtown Bangor Partnership Josh Gass stated  "It's a time of transition for us where we've been letting go of some older things that we have been doing for a really long time that we felt had just become stagnant and you know just kind of looking at some new things we could be doing to really draw attention to the Downtown Bangor area."

They also produced a new vibrant map of Bangor to hand out to hotels to give people a visual of what Downtown Bangor has to offer.
