It happened Tuesday afternoon in the southbound lanes, just south of the Kelly Road exit.
State police stated the driver of a pickup was attempting to pass someone when he pulled back into the travel lane and ended up in the path of a sliver sedan.
The driver of the sedan then lost control of his vehicle and flipped his car.
Maine State Police Cpl. Trevor Snow said "The silver sedan driver attempted an evasive maneuver, ultimately lost control and struck the guardrail."
Police said witnesses and the driver of the pickup truck all stopped at the scene to help.
The driver of the sedan was not seriously hurt.
No charges will be filed.
