Former State Representative Diane Russell has announced her candidacy making her the seventh democrat to seek her parties nomination.
A former convenience store clerk, Russell served four terms in the house. She helped lead the charge to legalize marijuana in Maine and also ranked choice voting.
Russell also received high profile coverage when she spoke at the Democratic National Convention about proposed changes to the way our presidents are elected.
She said she wants to work for working class makers who aren't earning enough money.
Providing healthcare for all is another goal.
