ELLSWORTH - An Ellsworth woman is facing charges after a man was run over Sunday night.

Police stated Nicole Butterworth, 39, was arguing with a 43 year old man on the Bucksport Road when she started to drive away.

Police said she apparently stopped and he went to the passenger side of the car and put his arm in the window to unlock the door.

Police stated Butterworth drove off, the man's arm became stuck in the window and he was dragged a short distance. Authorities added his leg was run over when his arm finally came free.

The incident happened just before 7 p.m.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Butterworth is being charged with domestic violence assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of suboxone.
