Anthony Hardy, 23, was sentenced on 19 different charges today, including burglary, theft and assault.
Police said Hardy broke into two homes in Carmel and stole guns before breaking into stores in the Bangor area last year.
Penobscot County District Attorney Christopher Almy said "It sounds callous to say this person should go to jail for six years but this defendant has been a menace before. He had been convicted of robbery on two occasions. He had served time in jail so at some point you have to an end to that."
Hardy was indicted in May of 2016. He pleaded no contest to many of the charges today.
D.A. Almy stated while Hardy was in jail serving time for another crime he assaulted an inmate who had to be hospitalized.
