Major meth bust in Madawaska

MADAWASKA - A Madawaska couple was arrested last night for what drug agents are calling one of the largest meth busts they have ever encountered.

Carl and Casie Thibeault were arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, aggravated operation of a meth lab, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency responded to the home on Maine Street Tuesday afternoon and seized a considerable amount of materials used to manufacture the drug.

Carl was taken to Aroostook County Jail and Casie was released on bail.

Two children were home at the time and the Department of Health and Human Services were called in to assist.

This is the 15th meth bust by MDEA agents this year.
