WATERVILLE - The rising cost of day care negatively impacts more families every year.

Some members of the United States Senate want to update the child care tax credit.

Senator Angus King, I-Maine, said "The question is, you know, of course we should be doing more. But how do we pay for it? This is a realistic step that I think we can take."

Senator King stated some people are finding child care almost as expensive as college. Plus, the senator added day care expenses should be refundable so it benefits lower income families.
