In a growing event that helps support everyone involved.
The "11th Annual Community Supported Agriculture Event" gave people an opportunity to buy shares of crops from local farms. The money is raised in the spring, when funds are otherwise low, so farms have money to start the season.
In return shareholders receive deliveries of food from the farms throughout the growing season.
Greg Edwards of Bangor Greendrinks said "It's a really great concept. So these farmers, they need the capital in the beginning. And by buying it now you actually commit to that farmer, which is really important to them, as opposed to them relying on you maybe showing up for the farmers' market."
Edwards said they look to outdo last year's event which saw over 350 people.
