The city is considering new locations for Bangor's public transportation hub.
After meeting with the council last month, two new locations-- one at Washington Street and one at Abbot Square-- were put into consideration.
The city met Wednesday night to discuss the pros and cons of each location, including keeping the hub in Pickering Square, but no moves will be made any time soon.
“It's really important that people understand that this is going to include a lot of public outreach. We're going to plan on holding a lot of meetings with stakeholders, bus riders, bus drivers, downtown businesses, downtown business partnership. All kinds of people who are involved in both the transportation system and also downtown so we make sure that all those opinions are heard,” said Tanya Emery, director of community and economic development.
The topic will be reintroduced to the council within the next 60 days after further research and cost assessments are done for each location.
