Heavy snow believed to cause barn to collapse, killing family horse.

SHERMAN - The wild weather that rolled through the area last night caused problems throughout the state. The heavy winds caused more than 7,000 power outages, which utility crews have been trying to repair throughout the day.

Sherman fire crews also responded to a barn that collapsed this morning on Silver Ridge Road.

It is suspected the roof caved in due to heavy snow.

While one horse was rescued from this scene at least one other died.

Officials say it could serve as a good reminder to remove snow from roof tops which can be extremely heavy.

It gets even heavier with the rain and other precipitation like we saw last night which adds to the snows water content.
