Karina joined the WVII ABC 7 and WFVX FOX Bangor News team in March of 2013. Raised as part of a military family, she likes to consider Massachusetts as her "home-base". Karina graduated from Suffolk University located in Boston, Massachusetts where she majored in Communications. From January 2012 to July 2012, Karina was a student reporter for New England Cable News (NECN) and would take part in a live shot every Tuesday for The Morning Show, covering topics from current events to the "Trophy Town" teams.

Karina also has a huge passion for sports. While in college she interned for New England Sports Network (NESN) as a “NESN Daily” intern, as well as the TD Garden, working in the control room for the Bruins and Celtics games. Also as a former college softball player, she loves staying active and looks forward to trying some of the sports the Bangor area has to offer!

Hickox Will Fight for Rights Following News of Court Filing

FORT KENT - Kaci Hickox's decision to not abide by the voluntary quarantine continues to cause major issues across the state, specifically in Fort Kent. She says her rights as an American are being infringed upon. State officials disagree, and are taking precautionary measures that they feel are in the best interest of the people of Maine, including Hickox.

FORT KENT - The Fort Kent nurse who returned from West Africa last week is now back in the Fort Kent area. Kaci Hickox stating she will not be abiding by the voluntary 21 day quarantine requested by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Reports Say Hickox Not Returning to Fort Kent

MAINE - Maine Department of Health and Human Services and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention provided no comment on the case of the Fort Kent nurse who was released from isolation in New Jersey Monday. Recent reports claiming she is not heading back to the Fort Kent area at this time.

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - The Ebola scare is hitting close to home. A University of Maine nursing student fighting some backlash at her request to self quarantine herself in a Fort Kent home following her recent trip to Africa to aid in the Ebola crisis.
