Craig Colson became news director and anchor at WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox Bangor in December of 2012. He began his career in broadcasting in 1985 while working as a news photographer at another Bangor television station. Craig worked his way up through the ranks and became the main anchor for the nightly newscasts before leaving in 2009. At that point, he became news director for four local radio stations and delivered the morning news before taking on his current position.
Craig grew up in a "news family" and followed in the footsteps of his father who was also a news director and anchor. His brother is also a news photographer at a Boston television station.
Craig's career has brought him all over-reporting from everywhere from Washington D.C. to Red Square in Moscow, Russia. When he isn't reporting the news, Craig can be found taking on new adventures with his two daughters or exploring the coast of Maine in his kayak. His other passion is making furniture in his shop or just about anything involving the outdoors.
Assistant News Director
Renee joined the ABC-7 and Fox Bangor news team in 2014 as the assistant news director. She spent 29 years as a news reporter and columnist for the Bangor Daily News during which time she broke numerous statewide stories through investigative reporting. Renee’s career included many “news beats” including municipal and state government, police and fire and courts and the state judiciary. Her work has been recognized by the Maine Press Association, the New England Press Association and the National Scripps Howard Award.
Her column was named best weekend column in the state two years in row by the Maine Press Association.
Renee also hosted “Public Opinion” for Maine Public Broadcasting Network, a weekly TV show that featured a round-table discussion with a broad and alternating panel of guests.
Renee sits on the board of the Bangor Humane Society, is on the communications committee for the American Folk Festival and is a member of the State Attorney General’s Office Domestic Homicide Review Panel.
She lives in Bangor with her husband, Rick. They are adjusting to an empty nest, having raised two children who are now in college.
Renee inherited her mother’s green thumb and spends a lot of time in her vegetable garden during the summer months. She also loves to cook and is always looking for new recipes. In the winter Rick and Renee enjoy downhill skiing and snowshoeing and all year round Renee can be found around the city with her sidekick, Abby, her yellow lab mix.

Brian joined WVII & WFVX as Sports Director in February of 2009, before becoming the Executive Producer in January of 2013. He grew up in Eastern Maine, graduating from Bucksport High School, go Golden Bucks! Brian then moved on to the University of Maine where he graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
After spending so many years working in sports the decision to move into the world of news presented different challenges and more variety on a daily basis. Brian hasn't completely left the sports world behind, hosting Black Bear Insider a show highlighting the University of Maine's athletic programs, as well as providing color commentary for Maine Football TV broadcasts and hosting the Coach Cosgrove weekly radio show.
In his spare time Brian enjoys spending time with friends and family. Escaping to Cape Cod in the summer and taking in a good movie at the local theatre whenever there is something worth checking out.
Jaclyn Cangro joined WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox 22 in September of 2013. She was raised in suburban New York and graduated cum laude from Emerson College with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2013.
While at Emerson, she won the 2012 New England Emmy Award for Best College Newscast as co-executive producer. She was also nationally ranked by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA) as one of the Top 20 Sports Broadcasters in the country, being one of two females on the list.
When not on the air, she enjoys watching and rooting for the New York Mets and New England Patriots.

Bryan joined the news team in February of 2014. You can catch him weekday mornings on WVII ABC 7's Good Morning Maine at 6:30am and WFVX FOX 22's 7am News Hour. Bryan has held an interest in news since he was a child, often sitting in front of a video camera reading the newspaper.
Bryan is an Indiana native, and yes, an Indianapolis Colts fan. Also a graduate of Ball State University, Bryan holds a degree in Telecommunications and Journalism. He also has a passion for weather, and holds a minor in meteorology and climatology.
When not at the station, you will most likely find Bryan hiking, skiing, snow climbing and also enjoying the beach in the summer. He plans to enjoy everything Maine has to offer.
Award winning journalist Laura Smith joined WVII ABC 7 WFVX FOX Bangor News in December 2014. She anchors from 6:30 a.m. - 7 a.m. on ABC 7 and from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. every weekday.
Laura is a Hearst Journalism Emmy Award recipient and has gained a lot of experience through many different jobs. She worked with Channel 2 news, WCBD, as an intern in Charleston, South Carolina. Before then, she lived and worked in New York City for two seasons of Lifetime's reality show Project Runway All-Stars. Pursuing a career in broadcast journalism has been her dream since she discovered what a camera and microphone was as a little girl.
She is passionate about telling stories and getting involved within the community. She is full of energy and ready to help wake you up bright and early in the morning! She's focused on making waking up that much easier by updating you with correct and accurate information. Laura graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in broadcast journalism. She is also a certified workout instructor.
When she isn't busy at work, Laura enjoys working out, cooking, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends!

Patrick is a Southern boy at heart and was raised in Gadsden, Alabama, an hour northeast of Birmingham, AL. He is a General Assignment Reporter for ABC 7/FOX 22, having joined the news team in March 2014 and has a passion for getting to know the issues that affect the lives of Bangor and Maine residents. He is from small town America too so don’t be afraid to approach him with story ideas and questions. His passion for Broadcast News began at a young age and is now living out his dream.
He is not a stranger to the northeast! He graduated from Boston University’s Masters Program in Broadcast Journalism in December. During his time at BU, he did everything from doing Play-by-Play for Women’s Hockey games to reporting on the Boston Marathon Bombings and the 50th Anniversary of the John F. Kennedy Assassination. Patrick held internships with Newton News, ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, AL and Comcast Sportsnet New England. He was voted Best Newcomer to WTBU Sports and was the budget editor for a student run news site called Boston University News Service that won two awards from the Online News Association for their Marathon Bombing Coverage.
Before attending Boston University, Patrick attended Birmingham-Southern College where he played four years of college football. In his free time, he loves to exercise and is a football fanatic. He loves his Auburn Tigers football! War Eagle!!! He also loves the Atlanta Braves. If you ever see him out in Bangor, feel free to ask him about football strategy. He loves talking X’s and O’s.
Ashley joined the WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox 22 in April 2015. After working as an intern at Fox 29 in Philadelphia, Fox 25 and Channel 7 in Boston, and The Today Show in Australia, she is so excited to officially kick off her career as a reporter here in Maine!
Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Ashley has had an interest in news since anchoring the morning broadcast at her elementary school at the age of 10. Ashley is also a graduate of Boston University, with a degree in Journalism. At BU, she participated in various BUTV programs and reported live from the democratic headquarters during the election day coverage.
When not at the station, Ashley enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching movies. She is so excited to enjoy all that Maine has to offer, so if you see her out be sure to say hello!

Jon Alba joined ABC 7 and FOX 22 in September of 2015 to serve as sports director and anchor. He is a graduate of Quinnipiac University, where he served as general manager of the school's television station Q30 Television for two years.During his tenure, Q30 was named "College Television Station of the Year" by the College Media Association in 2014, and picked up additional national award recognition as well. Jon has been acknowledged by the Society of Professional Journalists for his commitment to sports journalism, including his investigative work while covering Quinnipiac Athletics.Prior to moving to Maine, Jon was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. There, he formed a passion for covering sports, knowing since age 5 he wanted to tell stories for a living.In the past, Jon has worked at MLB Network, alongside MLB Advanced Media. Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter
Matt Randall joined the ABC-7 and FOX Bangor news team in August 2015 as Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter. A proud Midwesterner, he was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and is excited to begin his career right here in Maine!
Matt graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism in 2015, and his love for sports broadcasting grew through the several media outlets on campus. He hosted a sports talk show on WIUX, served as Sports Director and Anchor at IU NewsNet, and worked as a sideline reporter for IU Athletics through the Big Ten Network StudentU program in addition to multiple TV internships.
Matt's passion for sports is well-known among friends and family. Growing up in Indiana means basketball is king, but he also enjoys football, baseball and soccer. His favorite teams include the Pacers, his beloved Indiana Hoosiers, and yes, the Indianapolis Colts.
Matt is thrilled to be here in the Northeast, and looks forward to learning the sports that matter here in Maine! Bernie Rayno is an Expert Senior Meteorologist and Afternoon Forecast Manager for AccuWeather, Inc. Bernie was born in Beaver Meadows, PA, a town 45 minutes south-southwest of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. His interest in meteorology was sparked early--he was bitten by the weather bug in Kindergarten and soon developed an interest in snowstorms.
