Kristin Hosfelt joined WVII ABC 7 and WFVX FOX Bangor News team in September of 2012. Pursuing a career in TV news has been a dream of hers since she first stepped foot in a news studio at 12-years-old. She has a true passion for storytelling and loves knowing each day working in the field, will be different than the day before.

She's a California native and a graduate of San Jose State University with a BS in broadcast journalism. She previously worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer for SJSU's student-run newscast, and interned at KCRA News in Sacramento, CA and NBC Bay Area in San Jose, CA.

When she's not in the newsroom she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling. She's a Packers Shareholder, a cross fit junkie and she's always looking for the best place to get Mexican food.

She's thrilled to be here on the east coast and if you see her around be sure to say hello!

Local Hospital Has Great Success with Therapeutic Seals

BANGOR - Animal assisted therapy is often used to improve a patient's social, emotional, or cognitive functioning. Thanks to some generous donations, Acadia Hospital has purchased a new therapy animal for their pediatric services, and it's one of a kind.

Look Good, Feel Better Program Seeking Participation

BREWER - There's a free program offered in Brewer that's open to any patient going through cancer treatment. It's been around for several years, but recently, registration is waning. The folks at EMMC Cancer Care want to invite more patients to take part.

House Speaker Mark Eves Files Lawsuit against Governor Paul LePage

PORTLAND - House Speaker Mark Eves filed a civil lawsuit against Governor Paul LePage Thursday. The suit stems from Good Will-Hinckley's decision to rescind a job offer, claiming the school was forced to do it because the governor threatened to pull state funding if they allowed Eves to keep the position. Eves now wants the governor to be held responsible.

Local Hospital Participates in National Alzheimer's Clinical Trial

BANGOR - More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's Disease today. And according to the Alzheimer's Association it's the only condition in the top 10 leading causes of death, that can't be prevented, cured, or slowed. But there's a clinical trial taking place right here in Eastern Maine that has promise, and they're inviting more patients to take part.
