BANGOR - The Penobscot County grand jury has indicted 23-year-old Akeem Harris of New York for Murder.

ORONO - A press release from the University of Maine reads as follows:

 

University of Maine President Paul Ferguson has announced that the University will buy out the last year of Coach Tim Whitehead's contract, ending his appointment as head coach after 11 seasons. This announcement follows several weeks of intense discussions with constituents of the University of Maine Men's Ice Hockey Program that included current and former players, coaches, fans, donors, faculty, university administrators and Coach Whitehead. This action is effective April 9, 2013.

Searsport - After months of back and forth meetings between DCP Midstream and the citizens of Searsport opposed to the building of a 22 million gallon propane tank the company has decided to pull out of the proposed project.

ALFRED - Alexis Wright, the madame in the Kennebunk Zumba case, will not go to trial.  She plead guilty to 20 misdemeanors.

Bangor - Police are searching First Street at this hour after reports of a man roaming around with a shotgun. At one point in the course of their search, police took one man into custody, in the parking lot behind Seasons restaurant, and the Main Street McDonalds. After a thorough search of the man's vehicle he was release. We'll be sure to bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

ORONO - It's an annual right of passage for Maine Football seniors...It's Pro Day, a chance to work out for NFL scouts in hopes of becoming the next Black Bear to play pro ball.

 

BANGOR - Mainers hoping for more Spring like conditions will have to wait for a few more days...at least.

BUCKSPORT - Many have attended a career fair as they attempt to find a path to follow.  Administrators at Bucksport High School decided who better to tell students currently attending...than former students.

ORONO - After a tough start to the season the Maine Black Bear are slolwly but surely starting to feel better about the prospects for the rest of the season.

The learning curve has been steep this season, several underclassmen thrust into the lineup playing key minutes week in an week out.  Maine is 1-1-2 the last 4 times on the ice, breaking dead even in goals...allowing ten and scoring ten.
