MEOC Essentials of College Planning Workshops (Mon. 26 Feb, 2018 9:00 am - 10:00 am)

Who We Are
MEOC is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education. The program helps qualified adults
make the transition towards a college education. MEOC, which is housed at the University of Maine,
provides assistance to adults living in Maine and helps them go to whichever college or university they
choose.

Our Work in Action
MEOC successfully placed 1,073 Maine adults in different colleges last year.
How to Participate
The starting point for all MEOC participants is The Essentials of College Planning, a FREE interactive
workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning,
and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately 2 – 3 hours. Pre-registration is required.

American Red Cross Blood Drive (Mon. 26 Feb, 2018 11:00 am - 11:05 am)

Plastic Surgeon to Speak to Weight Loss Support Group

Machias – The DECH Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Support Group is hosting a special speaker at its February 26 Meeting.  Dr. Irina Domantovsky of Bangor Plastic & Hand Surgery will be joining the group to discuss the types of procedures available at Bangor Plastic & Hand with regard to loose skin after weight loss surgery (or after any major weight loss).  After weight loss, there is sometimes a need to remove excess sagging fat and skin, and/or to relieve the physical strain caused by excessive tissue or even very large breasts.  Bangor Plastic and Hand Surgery offers procedures that can help men & women feel more confident and enjoy a more youthful looking figure. Bangor Plastic and Hand Surgery has provided State-of-the-art cosmetic surgery to the Bangor area since 2000.

The support group meeting will take place on February 26 at 5:30 at Down East Community Hospital in the Hospital Conference Room.
